Our Team

Paul Wiederhold, Owner

Paul is a Michigan native who relocated to North Carolina ten years ago.   He joined the company, then H.L. Forbes, in 1999 as an apprentice.  After studying the crafts of coppersmithing and slate and tile installation, Paul was hooked.  He continues to hone his craft and train on the latest techniques and installation systems.  Mr. Wiederhold is a student of eco-building and resource management.  He is an avid fisherman and kayaker in his free time. 

Corlis Burchell, Superintendent

Mr. Burchell is a veteran roofer with 30 +years of experience.  He began his career in New York State and then relocated to Asheville in 1995,  joining the company (then H.L. Forbes).  After a brief time pursuing other interests, he rejoined H.L. Forbes in 2002 and assumed the role of Superintendent in 2005.  Mr. Burchell is a father of five children and one grandson.   While his family keeps him quite busy, Mr. Burchell enjoys riding his motorcycle whenever he can. 

Melvin Aguilera, Crew Chief

Melvin is a native of Honduras and has been with the company since 2001.  Melvin is a dedicated young craftsman who has learned the slate craft very quickly and is eager to learn and grow in the trade.
